ServSafe Maricopa County Food Handler Training

The Maricopa County Environmental Health Department has approved the ServSafe Food Handler Online Course as a curriculum to deliver required food handler training and assessment. Food service worker cards are required for any person who handles, prepares, serves, sells or gives away food for human consumption.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, it covers 5 key areas each taking about 10 minutes to complete: Basic Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cross-Contamination & Allergens, Time and Temperature and Cleaning and Sanitation

To meet Maricopa County licensing requirements, food service workers must pass the assessment with a 75% or greater, print the Certificate of Achievement and bring this certificate with valid picture ID to a Maricopa County regional office for issuance of their food service worker card.
